ARCTIC GROUP APPOINTS NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Arctic Group Chairman and CEO, Robert Nagy, announced today the appointment of Mr. Keith McMahon as the Company's new Chief Financial Officer.

A senior operational and financial executive, Mr. McMahon has a diverse background in manufacturing, service and distribution environments. He has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba and obtained his C.A. designation in 1990.

In 1993, Keith joined the Canadian Wheat Board as the Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration. In 1996, he was appointed Corporate Controller and, in 1999, was appointed Vice President, Accounting and Corporate Controller. In this role he was responsible for the accounting, reporting and forecasting functions. Prior to joining the Canadian Wheat Board, Keith was an Audit and Corporate Services Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Effective April 17th, 2001, Keith assumes the position currently held by Mr. Bill Robertson.

Mr. McMahon will provide hands on leadership, direction and coordination for all accounting, financial management, reporting and information systems for the company. Keith will plan, direct and oversee all corporate finance activities including treasury, banking relations, tax and regulatory/institutional reporting. He will also direct and oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll & benefits, general ledger, financial statement preparation and management reporting.
