GARY FILMON JOINS ARCTIC GROUP BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Arctic Group Chairman and CEO, Robert Nagy, announced today the appointment of Mr. Gary Filmon, the former premier of Manitoba, to the company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Filmon has had a long and distinguished career in politics. In 1979, Mr. Filmon was first elected to the Manitoba legislature and in 1983, elected leader of the Manitoba Progressive Conservatives. He is the longest-serving leader in Manitoba Progressive Conservative history and served as premier of the province of Manitoba from 1988 to 1999.

"Mr. Filmon has developed a reputation as a fiscally responsible manager and is one of the most respected public figures in Canada today," said Robert Nagy, Chairman and CEO. "Mr. Filmon's extensive contacts throughout Canada and in particular, the northern United States will serve Arctic well as we continue our growth in that market."

Arctic also announced today the acquisition of Geske's Ice of Fargo, North Dakota. This transaction, along with the recent acquisition of Stelley's Ice of Rochester, Tour Ice of Bismarck and Ron's Ice of Minneapolis, completes the consolidation of Minnesota and North and South Dakota. Total annualized revenue from these four acquisitions is approximately $5 million.

According to Robert Nagy, "Geske's will open up the Grand Forks market, one hour north of Fargo, which is not at this time being serviced by a major ice company. Geske's is strategically located between Arctic's plants in Marshall, Minnesota and Bismarck, North Dakota."

The Arctic Group is a leading North American producer, marketer and distributor of purified, high-quality packaged ice products to consumers in Canada and the U.S. under the 'Arctic Glacier' brand. The company is dedicated to creating shareholder value through superior profit growth, prudent management, and growing penetration of its branded ice products in key target markets.
