THE ARCTIC GROUP COMPLETES
ACQUISITION OF FOUR ICE COMPANIES
Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Arctic Group Inc. announced today that
it has completed the transactions to acquire the assets of four
ice companies. The assets acquired are located in Minnesota and
North Dakota in the United States and in Alberta, Canada.
In keeping with The Arctic Group's focused strategy of continuing
geographic acquisitions, the assets acquired are all located in
regions where the Arctic Group already maintains extensive operations
or are contiguous to existing operations.
The assets acquired are from Ron's Ice of Minneapolis, Minnesota,
Stelley's Ice of Rochester, Minnesota, Tour Ice of Bismarck, North
Dakota, and Ice is Nice of Edmonton, Alberta. The four companies
have total annual revenues of approximately $4 million. Each transaction
provides Arctic with opportunities for internal efficiencies and
provide immediate synergies with existing operations. The four transactions
are an excellent fit geographically with Arctic's existing operations
in that it creates production efficiencies, broadens our distribution
base and increases Arctic's market penetration.
The Arctic Group is one of North America's largest ice companies
with operations that encompass all the major markets in Canada and
service a substantial segment of the United States with annual revenues
of approximately $85 million.
The Arctic Group is building an internationally recognized ice
company by producing and marketing high-quality products, and by
following a focused acquisition and consolidation strategy in geographically
contiguous markets.
