ARCTIC GROUP STRENGTHENS FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT GROUP

Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Arctic Group Chairman and CEO, Robert Nagy, announced today the appointment of three new members to the corporate finance department. Mr. Bill Robertson has been appointed the Company's new Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Garth Waddell has been appointed the Company's new Director of Finance and Ms. Cynthia Hanwell has been appointed Corporate Accountant.

Bill Robertson, a senior financial executive was previously employed as Manager of Corporate Lending for RoyNat Inc. in Winnipeg. Bill, a chartered accountant was actively involved in the critical detailed analysis of the financial and managerial performance of prospective clients. In addition, Bill has been involved in the negotiation and structure of clients' acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to joining RoyNat Inc., Bill was a manager at Coopers & Lybrand Limited. Effective October 4, 1999, Bill assumes the position previously held by Mr. Don Turple.

Garth Waddell, a chartered accountant, was previously employed as a Controller with United Grain Growers. Garth has extensive experience in the manufacturing and distribution sectors of business as well as the financial and operational reporting structures required to support an enterprise that is expanding rapidly through acquisition. Prior to joining U.G.G., Garth worked for Coopers and Lybrand, performing audits, accounting and other special engagements.

Cynthia Hanwell received her CGA designation in 1987. Cynthia spent the first eight years of her career in public practice. For the last five years Cynthia has been employed as a controller with a telecommunications company. In this capacity, Cynthia was responsible for the implementation of sophisticated billing and accounting software.
