Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Arctic Group Inc. (Alberta AGP) today announced solid operating results for the first quarter ended March 31st, 1999.

"From an operating perspective, the first quarter results are very positive and well ahead of our business plan," stated Robert Nagy, Chairman and CEO of the Arctic Group. In the first quarter of 1999, the net loss available to common shareholders was ($2.9) million or ($0.081) per share versus ($1.3) million or ($0.070) per share in 1998.
